Nancy Crochet, owner and operator of Blue and Gold Embroidery at the
Naval Academy Womens Club 'Spririt of Christmas' craft show.
Blue and Gold Embroidery was started by Nancy Crochet in 1996 in Naples, Italy. Nancy was living there with her husband, Mike who was in the United States Navy, and 2 sons, Ed and Mike. The idea to buy a computerized embroidery machine had started in Hawaii where Nancy had seen the machine owned by a fellow submariners wife and finally Nancy decided to take the plunge. The first year was spent learning how to operate and maintain the machine. While it may look like a sewing machine it is operated quite differently. After 10 years and 5 moves the business has finally settled in lovely Boiling Springs, PA.
The items you can see on this web site are the main stays of the current business. These are the things that Nancy sells at the various craft shows she attends throughout the year. Occasionally, Nancy will add a new item to the inventory such as the shawl-collared jackets that were added this past year. As you can see, Nancy's love of sewing has crept into the business and not all the items she sells are embroidered. But embroidery still remains the basis of the business so if there is something you need to have embroidered from sweatshirts to baby blankets just ask. Nancy loves the creativity involved in designing a custom piece.
